Project Description
Shelter Hall is an iconic heritage building on Brighton beach, with a lively atmosphere and a festival vibe. It houses eight local food vendors, a Brighton based entertainment line-up, and an ongoing community support programme
Shelter Hall Raw is the UK’s first socially distanced food hall; a pop-up food market where we built 8 pop up food vendors, an 11m metre bar, cellar, back of house kitchen and dining area. This included full electrical, Mechanical and plumbing design and installation.
There were various challenges on this project including designing and building this through the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic the full designs could not be realised and the whole project team had to go back to the drawing board. This was when the Shelter Hall Raw concept was born. By the time this was ready to go to site we only had 10 weeks in order to fit this 750m2 shell. It was an enormous challenge but the project pulled together and we got this completed on time ready for their opening
